In March 2018 NnGOWL submitted a new consent application to the Scottish Ministers, featuring an updated design for the wind farm. The updated design will allow the wind farm to be constructed using higher capacity turbines, meaning the same 450MW output could be achieved using fewer turbines. The maximum number of turbines would therefore drop from 75 to 54.
