Our series showcasing how the Scottish supply chain is playing an important part in NnG continues today with Ricky Wood Jnr from TVP Film and Multimedia Ltd.
Working out of their head office in Aberdeen, the team are experts in video productions, 3D animations and aerial imagery.
Established in 1983, TVP has a long history of working in the oil and gas sector with their initial foray into the renewable energy sector beginning in 2015.
TVP started working with NnG last year when they produced a 10 minute Health and Safety induction film for the project’s new contractors. The film focused on life saving roles and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Health and Safety is at the forefront of everything we do at NnG and work can only be undertaken with the appropriate training – TVP’s work has been of huge value to us.
A family business, TVP also produce conceptual animations which allow people to view 3D models of proposed windfarm sites. These animations show in specific detail how a windfarm will look from different locations, viewpoints and fly-throughs. These are useful tools for developers like NnG during the planning phase as it gives local communities a realistic insight into how the windfarms will look both during and post construction.
Ricky, Director at TVP, said: “We’ve really enjoyed working with the NnG project team and are happy that the Health and Safety film we produced has proved so popular.
“The growth of the renewable energy sector has been huge for us and we estimate that around 20% of our business is now within this industry.
“Having now worked on a number of offshore wind farms, we really hope many more doors in this industry will open for us.”
