Our latest example of how the Scottish supply chain is supporting construction of NnG, is Gibb Safety & Survival – who were selected to provide the NnG project with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as well as safety and survival apparatus.
Gibb are one of the energy sectors most experienced and qualified suppliers.
Headquartered in Aberdeen, Gibb has plans to expand its business in Scotland to serve client’s needs and has established itself as a partner of choice. Gibb has around 30 staff in Scotland and began working on NnG in 2019, supplying the project with workwear, clothing and marine survival equipment.
Gibb also provide the project team who work offshore with harsh environment suits, life jackets and harnesses as well as an array other safety and survival equipment. In addition to providing workwear and equipment, Gibb also service and manage all equipment they provide the project in house at their state-of-the-art facilities.
As well as working for NnG, Gibb has had indirect involvement in the project providing MSA Latchways for all foundations to our tier 1 contractor, Saipem. The Gibb Group, incorporating the Gibb Safety & Survival and Gibb Tools & Supplies divisions, also provides some global businesses with the parts and supply needed during the building and construction of major wind projects.
Gibb come from a background in the oil and gas sector but the business has adapted its model over the past 15 years to allow it to play a part in the renewables and offshore wind developments, becoming a leading distributor and specialist to the sector. Gibb also invests in the local economy, supporting young people through an extensive apprenticeship scheme that they see as key to continually evolving.
